The Deeper Meaning Of Rap Lyrics

Pushing🅿️ means Pushing Positivity, Player. It suggests your good at what you do, your solid, loyal, authentic, and positive. Young thug, American rapper, is fighting R.I.C.O charges.
“I always use my music as a form of artistic expression, and I see now that Black artists and rappers don’t have that freedom. Everybody please sign the Protect Black Art petition and keep praying for us. I love you all.” - young thug
Music is form of expression, one that we use to celebrate, to get us through hardships, to uplift us, and to slow down. However, it can be circumstantial. What a lot of people don’t comprehend is how rappers are singing about their own story and where they grew up and came from. I think the best way to understand where people come from is by imagining you were in their shoes, which only works to an extent sadly, since humans often only understand something after they have experienced it first hand. If you grow up in an environment with drugs, and alcohol, you are more likely to fall down this path, especially if your guiders (parents, and other adults) around you are participating and encouraging said behavior. To leave the “hood” takes courage and strength. The same way leaving a well-paid job that makes us feel miserable is. The real demon we all seem to face is our relationship with money, which in North America, and 95% of the world means ones freedom. “Money is Freedom” in our society. We all become a product of our environment and what we consume. You hang around people who like drugs, there’s a higher chance you participate, hang around people that are negative, chances are you become negative… even if you're not, it takes time to pull yourself back up to ground level. I think the biggest take away is that these artists were dealt their cards, came from “the projects” with no support or financial help to go to university (which is needed to get even a miserable mind numbing entry level salary job) yet they took a chance on music, by singing about their stories. If you follow along from 2008 until 2024, you can see the transformation in their music and the growth that has happened thus far. Isn’t praise and respect given to those who have had the courage to make the choice and change their life? Not to mention the many non-profit foundations that these rappers including Young Thug, 21 savage, Gunna, Nipsey Hussle have started to help give back to their communities in order to uplift communities and guide children and adults into a better life. To follow along their journey and see the transformation and their willingness to share this through music is inspiring. The same way these artist are labeled as “codeine” lovers is the same way Wall Street Finance bro’s are “snow” lovers. It seems that there is a lot of double standards, instead of embracing that our communities have deeply rooted issues that are all steamed from the same thing; trauma.
